Last year, Mindful & Good was honored to receive the Sustain Charlotte Sustainability Award for Most Inspiring Small Business—a recognition that reaffirmed our commitment to designing for positive impact. Over the past year, we’ve partnered with even more changemakers and purpose-driven businesses, advocating for sustainability, the circular economy, sustainable packaging, green space, land conservation, and social impact. We also helped establish the Charlotte B Corp Collective—with an amazing team of women, bringing together businesses that prioritize people and the planet. But we’re not stopping there. Doing good means standing for more than just sustainability in the traditional sense. It’s about building a world that is equitable, inclusive, and just for all. ?? ????? Stand up for equality and human rights—advocate for marginalized communities, including immigrants, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, trans people, and anyone facing systemic barriers. ? Fight for social justice and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the forefront of your business and your daily choices. ?? Support regenerative practices to tackle climate change and protect our planet. ?? Be a conscious consumer—choose sustainable brands, packaging and products that minimize waste. ?? Put your money where your values are—support small, local, and purpose-driven businesses making a difference. This is about more than sustainability—it’s about compassion, justice, and impact. And yes, it can be overwhelming—especially when faced with resistance. But don’t let those who benefit from inequality and exploitation dim your light or silence your voice. Keep pushing. Did you know you can now drop off food scraps for free composting at select Mecklenburg County recycling centers? This is a great way to reduce waste, keep food out of landfills, and nourish the soil. ?? Drop-off locations: ?? Hickory Grove (8007 Pence Rd.) ?? Compost Central (140 Valleydale Rd.) ? What’s accepted? ALL food waste! ?? What’s NOT accepted? Plastic bags, to-go containers, food packaging, utensils, and napkins. By summer 2025, the program will expand to more locations. We personally love using Crown Town Compost (paid service) for weekly pickups, but if you’re just getting started (and don’t have the space to compost at home), this is an easy and free way to make a difference. #Sustainability #Composting #MindfulLiving #FoodWaste
