A month into my parental leave, I’ve had so many emotions: ?? Guilt during moments of downtime. ?? Guilt for not being fully present with my twins. ?? The endless housework that never gets “caught up.” ?? The feeling that I should be working or earning money. The reality? As a fractional leader and solopreneur, I didn’t prepare much beyond: ?? Estimating I’d take 3 months off. ?? Budgeting enough to cover expenses. ?? Outlining a loose timeline for my leave. But here’s what I’m learning: planning for leave as a solopreneur isn’t just about $$ —it’s emotional, practical, and personal. Weekly AI update made simple: Claude can control your computer -- a big step in AI automation and agents. It’s called computer use (CU) and went into beta this week. Here’s an example: CU can fill out and submit a customer form by finding and pulling data from your computer. Here are a few things to know:? ? ?? Instead of teaching it to complete specific tasks, it’s being taught general computer skills.? ?? Claude looks at screenshots, then counts pixels vertically or horizontally to move a cursor in order to click in the correct place.? ?? In current evaluations of CU, Claude got 14.9% versus human-level skill 70-75%. ?? Current abilities are imperfect - challenges with scrolling, dragging, and zooming. This is sure to improve exponentially and quickly -- both the exciting and terrifying part. It will take smart and safe guidance on using these tools to truly take advantage of their power.
