?? The Future of Learning: Personal Digital Twins in Education ?? We are on the verge of a massive transformation in education, one that will redefine how students, educators, and institutions engage with learning. Enter the Personal Digital Twin of a Professor — a revolutionary technology that will reshape the landscape of education and lifelong learning. Imagine an AI-driven replica of yourself that grows with you, learning your strengths, challenges, preferences, and goals, then customizing your educational journey to maximize your potential. That is precisely what we are doing at the moment with a number of professors and universities. Take a look at this video created by Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management professor Mohanbir Sawhney where he showcases his digital twin and how it will impact education and beyond. #DigitalTwin #EducationRevolution #EdTech #LifelongLearning #AI #AdaptiveLearning #FutureOfEducation #DigitalTransformation #EdTechInnovation

BUILDING MY DIGITAL AVATAR AND DIGITAL TWIN A digital avatar is a virtual representation (audio or video) that embodies your appearance, communication style, and personality. Digital avatars can serve as a visual and interactive stand-in for teachers like me, allowing us to create video content directly from a script, without the need to physically record the videos. Further, the videos can be edited and translated into any language with very little effort. Avatars are created asynchronously, and they cannot interact with the audience. A personal digital twin, on the other hand, is a virtual model that replicates an individual's behaviors and knowledge using data from their real-life content and expertise. My digital twin is trained on my content (articles, videos, blog posts, case studies, etc.), so it can simulate my responses by offering insights based on my proprietary knowledge. A digital twin can interact in real-time with the audience, but the user interface is rudimentary - usually text-based chat or audio. In the near future, Digital Avatars and Digital Twins will be merged to create a real-time, 3-D video representation that looks like, acts like, and thinks like the expert. The "looks and acts" comes from the Digital Avatar, and the "thinks" comes from the Digital Twin. We just need to reduce latency to the point that it becomes a natural interaction. Once this happens, we can democratize access to expertise in all walks of life (spirituality, self-help, consulting, medicine - you name it!), and we can also make expertise "immortal", as the Digital Avatar never "dies"! In this video, I show examples of my experiments with building my digital avatar as well as my personal digital twin. At Kellogg, we like to "eat our own dog food" by experimenting with cutting-edge Generative AI tools, while teaching executives about Generative AI.
