Senior antitrust officials at the U.S. Department of Justice plan to ask a judge to order Google to divest its Google Chrome web browser, Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources. The deparment also intends to ask federal judge Amit Mehta, who declared Google's search engine a monopoly in August, to mandate actions concerning artificial intelligence and the #Android mobile operating system. Following a 10-week trial last year, Mehta ruled that Google violated antitrust laws related to online search and search text ads. Google plans to appeal. Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI is bringing in as much as $6 billion in new funding, CNBC reports, pumping up its valuation to $50 billion. The funding, set to close next week, will go toward buying 100,000 NVIDIA chips that will be used for Colossus, xAI's new supercomputer in Memphis, Tennessee.
