Calling all young cinephiles! Apply now (or rather, help your kids to apply now) to be on the Kids Jury for the 2025 Milwaukee Film Festival. We’re looking for a group of film critics between the ages of 9-12 to attend the Milwaukee Film Festival–for free, we may add–to attend the Rated K: For Kids short film programs and then meet during the Festival to deliberate on their favorite and award one film the Kids’ Choice Award, which will mean a $1,000 cash prize for the filmmaker! We’re so excited to carry on our love of film with the next generation, giving them access to stories and filmmaking techniques from all over the world, then giving them the platform and leadership role to share what resonated with them and what they want to represent their point of view as an award winner! It’s basically their first time voting for an Oscar, which we know they’ll do many times in the future. Applications are due on Monday, April 7th, and shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to complete with your youth applicant. We look forward to welcoming them into our world of cinema lovers!
