Talk about an extra special guest, we were so lucky to have had Henry Winkler himself visit our historic theatre to talk to our audience about "Being Henry"! We are so thankful when filmmakers, performers, and artists of all backgrounds make it into our theatre and this evening was such an amazing community event with one of Milwaukee's all-time favorites, and not just because he's The Fonz. Milwaukee Film recognizes and mourns the loss of our cinemas' alderperson, Jonathan Brostoff, who had a profound impact on our organization as well as the entire East Side community and Milwaukee beyond. Brostoff was instrumental in the reopening of the historic Downer Theatre, a huge champion for local culture, and we will forever be grateful for his support. We wish his family, friends, and colleagues peace in this time of sadness.

In partnership with Jewish Museum Milwaukee, we are excited to welcome Andrew Fredericks and Michael Schreiber for a discussion about the in-progress documentary LAST KID PICKED (working title) about Bernard Perlin, subject of the Museum's current exhibition, "Against the Grain" (now through January 26, 2025). Fredericks and Schreiber will share clips from the forthcoming film and discuss the status and inspiration of the project.
