  • Meeting character limits is an integral part of good grant writing. ? Unfortunately, we have yet to find an AI platform that can shorten or lengthen answers well. ? There are several reasons AI fails at this task: 1. AI does not know what makes your organization unique, and therefore cannot distinguish between fluff and essential information. 2. AI does not meet the character limit, even when you explicitly state your parameters. 3. AI cannot create nuanced or specific answers to layered questions. 4. AI does not save you time. You’ll spend just as long editing as you would writing from scratch. ? If you are looking to save time, don’t consult a chatbot—hire a proven grant consultant. ? Our clients decrease their time spent on grants by as much as 80% and give themselves a better chance at winning grants. ? Schedule a call with us today and be our next success story: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz ? Read more about AI and grant writing here: https://lnkd.in/dD4NUx6c

  • Can you train AI to be a good grant writer? ? Many AI chat features allow you to input specific, relevant information about your organization, which means it should be able to write, right? ? We have not found this to be the case. ? No matter how much context you provide, some predictions will still be inaccurate. ? Just because the writing it creates may be logically coherent on the surface doesn’t make it contextually relevant or helpful to your cause. ? AI predicts patterns, but only people can create meaning. ? If there is one thing we have learned working in the nonprofit space for over fifteen years, it is how much organizations mean to the people who run them and the people they serve. ? Your program may help a population whom no one else is helping. ? AI doesn’t know how unique your program is—only you do. ? Our suggestion: instead of trusting your organization’s chances at program-changing funds to a predictive algorithm, get a human to do it, preferably a proven human with a track record of success. ? The humans at Millionaire Grant Lady and Associates have helped to raise $103 million in grant funds, and you could be our next success story. ? • AI is popping up everywhere these days, and understandably, some people are wondering if they can use AI for grant writing. ? There are several important things to keep in mind when considering the use of AI for any writing, especially when important funds for your organization are on the line. ? AI writes via a scan-and-predict function that only approximates human creativity, but does not replace it. ? There are three issues with this function: 1. It was trained on outdated information, and thus cannot speak to the real-time needs of your community, organization, or client population. 2. It has been trained, in many cases, with inaccurate or biased sources, and has no ethical basis by which to judge the sources it scans. 3. It can only create text predictively, without understanding or context. ? The only expert on what your organization needs is you and your people—not an algorithm. ? If you don’t have the time to be an expert on grant funding trends, in addition to all the other hard work you do, partnering with a proven grant consultant may be your best option. ? Set up a call with us today, and we’ll get you started on winning the funds you need to succeed: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz ? Read more about AI in grant writing here: https://lnkd.in/dD4NUx6c

  • Grant money is not free. If you spend too much time and too many resources on a single application, it becomes a self-defeating investment. Winning applications for competitive grants require enormous time and effort, and nothing is guaranteed, no matter how worthy your cause. To have a successful grant winning operation, you have to streamline your process: - Calculate the time and personnel cost to prepare a proposal - Make sure you don't have too many people working on the same proposal - Create a process that is easily replicable and applicable to future proposals If you want help from people who are already operating in a streamlined process, schedule a call with us today: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz Read more about streamlining processes here: https://lnkd.in/gYzMhkj9

  • Every foundation has different submission requirements. They may ask for demographic information, tax documents, sustainability metrics, or lists of other funders. A common mistake many first-time grant writers make is in failing to honor the submission requirements. The person reviewing your proposal is likely volunteering or working on this outside of their normal hours, and they are definitely tired. Sifting through budgets and audits is few people's idea of a good time, even when it's important. Some things to remember when you are facing a character or word count: - Don't create strange abbreviations to sneak in more information - Don't write without spaces - Don't adjust the margins or font sizes to fit more words on the page - Revise your writing before you alter the formatting If you're tired of trying to fit your work into a foundation's requirements, schedule a call with us today, and let us prepare and submit on your behalf: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz Read more about submission mistakes here: https://lnkd.in/gU5xT3jR

  • Many first-time grant writers obsess too much over the details of their organization's work. It's not that they don't matter, they just aren't always relevant to the proposal. Because space is always limited in some way, focusing on minor distinctions in your work is a poor allocation of words or characters. The more important thing is to focus on how your work connects to the funder's mission, purpose, and priorities. If you're meeting a critical community need, THAT should be your primary focus. Impress upon them the importance of your work, and if they are impressed, they can always ask you for clarifying details later. Get them excited about the big picture first before analyzing the brushstrokes. If you're not sure how to "sell" your organization to potential funders, we are happy to help, and you can schedule a free call with us: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz Read more about avoiding distracting details here: https://lnkd.in/gXvt98ws

  • Foundations are requiring more data from their grant applicants than ever before. In response to this, some grant writers feel the need to update their data constantly, but this is (usually, unless explicitly specified) a mistake. Most funders want a general idea of your goals the people you serve. In most cases, sharing the same data with multiple funders is the right call. The key to avoiding many common mistakes in grant writing is simplifying: - Simplify who reviews grants - Simplify how you track and report data - Simplify your language - Simplify your application process - Simplify your focus If you want someone to make all of this simple for you, schedule a call with us here: https://lnkd.in/ejM55ZNz Learn more about sharing data with foundations here: https://lnkd.in/gYzMhkj9
