Mass timber construction helps utilize sustainable forest products and replace resource-intensive building materials like concrete and steel - all while supporting critical management on working forests. Our staff have supported the procurement of high-quality longleaf pine for the construction of Clemson University's Forestry and Environmental Conservation building from Norfolk Southern's Brosnan Forest. Milliken Advisors was proud to support the 2024 SC Sustainable Forestry Teachers’ Tour! ?? Teachers toured Gail Corley's tree farm, where our forester, Ben Royer, shared how we helped manage sustainable timber. After lunch at Clemson Extension Service Edisto REC, they visited an active logging site with Fail Logging and heard from Canfor's Chris Wilson. The day wrapped up at the Weyerhaeuser nursery, where the team explained their loblolly seedling operations. Thank you to all the partners for making the day a success!
