    In the past ~15 years, fuels and foodservice have become a much larger part of GDP (+10%) according to CSP Daily News. And what combines them the best? ? C-stores. ? Why has this happened? The rise in c-stores is fueled (pun intended ? ) by the demand for quick, accessible shopping with expanded offerings like fresh meals, digital convenience, and even EV charging stations. Their adaptability to urban lifestyles and consumer needs, including pandemic-driven shifts, has positioned them for continued growth. Is your c-store ready for the rise of electric vehicles? What about branding, marketing and retail opportunities with charging stations? So what does this mean for you? You need to make sure your c-stores are modern, open and easy to navigate. Gone are the days of sad, grey stations where customers just run in and out. We recommend using brand palette to brighten your spaces while also subconsciously reminding them how much they enjoy your store. For #cstores, design is only valuable when it’s precisely executed at scale. Find a team who has a track record of considering warehousing, #kitpacking processes and assembly methods and instructions before the project even starts. And finally, clean bathrooms, something we can also help with. 45% of consumers “would avoid [Gas Stations] if they encountered dirty restrooms” (Cleanlink) and “50% of people who encounter a dirty restroom would discuss it with friends and family.” (USA TODAY.) #cstoredesign

    Congratulations again to the Citizens team for all their amazing work at the 2024 NYC Marathon!

    As the Official Bank of the TCS NYC Marathon, Citizens showed up (and I would say showed off a bit) with amazing creative from our internal agency, strategic out of home placements thanks to our fab media team, exclusive events for all of Team Citizens, live social coverage all weekend, and our Expo activation partner Miller Zell. Our colleagues worked at the Expo all week and all of Marathon Sunday cheering along the more than 50,000 athletes who came by. And I am SO proud of my colleagues who ran that 26.2 - mostly with big smiles. It was so fun to cheer you on! There are wayyyyy too many people to tag in a post, so just know it was a giant integrated team effort that I am grateful to have been a part of. Jeff McGrath, Denise Wolffs, Christina Robbio let's go 2025 ;)

    "WOW" doesn’t even begin to describe my recent experience at Cosm Dallas! As experience-first leaders at Miller Zell Kevin Kohler and I are always on the lookout for ways to merge the physical and technology disciplines in ways that captivate and engage customers – and Cosm’s immersive environment has set a new bar for what’s possible. At Cosm, we went for the OKC vs Spurs NBA game that night. We stepped into a dome that seamlessly blended tech with environment, where a 360° LED display wrapped from floor to ceiling. This wasn’t just a viewing – it was full immersion. The space itself was designed with intention, offering unique viewing experiences tailored to every perspective – whether courtside, in the stands, baseline under the basket, or simply enjoying the ambiance from their rooftop patio. Each area created a purposeful way to interact with the environment, making the experience versatile and personal. This visit was a powerful reminder that when we think about branded environments, tech can’t just be an add-on. True engagement happens when digital and physical are built as one cohesive experience, elevating what it means to experience a space. Our new friends that we sat with were from OKC and when they shared pics to social, they were flooded with messages from friends wondering how they were in OKC for the game – so cool! Cosm is setting the stage for immersive innovation, and we walked away excited to see how we can continue to bring these principles to our own work, merging experiential technology dynamism with physical environments to drive connection in ways that inspire.     ?? Poll Results are In! According to our latest poll, #layout was voted the most impactful element in enhancing the in-store experience. So when’s the last time you walked through your store with a fresh perspective, truly observing the layout and each customer’s journey? Not just a superficial wander-through to make sure things are tidy and all the lighting worked, but a focused and purposeful journey that intuited what your customers thought and felt as they navigated your store. And how they judged your store and your brand upon departure.
