MW's John Palatiello was quoted in a Press Release by Rep. John Curtis highlighting H.Res.1583. “Every day, new and exciting applications of geospatial data, services,?and technology are brought to the market for the benefit of individual citizens, government at all levels, and private enterprise. Many of these are portrayed, visualized, and accessed in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).?These utilizations of "where" add value to almost any other types of data and make a significant contribution to our economy and quality of life. The investment the Federal government makes in these location-based data provides a significant return on investment and is leveraged for billions of dollars in business activity and creates or supports tens of thousands of jobs. This resolution helps bring attention to GIS and its role in economic growth and development, protection of the environment, and many of other important activities and we commend Congressmen Aguilar and Curtis for introducing the GIS Day resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives.?”?— John Palatiello, President and Founder, U.S. Geospatial Executives Organization (U.S. GEO) Read Here: https://lnkd.in/gASfU8xN

After 24 years in the lobbying profession, I’m often asked what keeps me going, especially in an environment as divisive and partisan as it is today. The answer is simple: I love what I do. Waking up every day excited about your work isn’t something that just happens—it’s a commitment. I truly believe that being great at what you do starts with loving it. It’s the passion that drives us through the challenges and fuels the desire to always strive to be better. For me, it’s the opportunity to navigate complex issues, bridge divides, and make an impact for clients and the causes I believe in. Despite the noise and partisanship, the passion I have for this profession is what makes it easy to keep pushing for better outcomes and finding common ground. If you love what you do, you’ll never stop aiming higher, even when the road gets tough. That’s the foundation of success in any field. #Lobbying #StriveForGreatness

In business and in life, reputation matters. It’s how people perceive us and can open many doors. But reputation can be built or lost on perception alone. Integrity, however, is something deeper—it’s who you are when no one is watching. It’s the backbone of every decision, even when it’s the harder path. Reputation can be earned, but integrity is a choice. Always choose integrity—it’s the foundation of trust, credibility, and lasting success. #IntegrityFirst #ethicsmatter

It's election day so make sure you go out and vote. As the election dust settles after today, we're reminded of an unfortunate cycle: the same officials who sought our support during campaign season often turn around and vilify the lobbying profession once elected. Lobbyists—who bring expertise and perspective—become easy targets, but we’re also essential voices in our democracy. The lobbying profession plays a vital role in our government system. Elected officials and their staff cannot be experts on every issue they’ll vote on. They need informed insights, data, and perspectives from all sides to make decisions that truly serve the public good. Lobbyists provide this critical information, ensuring all voices and facts are represented. During the campaign season, we heard repeatedly that facts matter. Well, that principle can’t just apply during campaigns. It’s needed now, as policymakers make decisions that impact millions of lives. And we’ll see soon what the new administration does, regardless of who it is, when it comes to banning or accepting lobbyists on transition teams or within their ranks. If facts and expertise are truly valued, then we’d expect to see a more constructive approach to including the knowledge lobbyists provide. It’s easy to demonize lobbyists, but doing so undermines a Constitutional right—the right to petition our government. This right applies to all Americans, whether they're participating in grassroots activism or professional lobbying. If you believe in the importance of an informed democracy, recognize that lobbyists are a resource, not a scapegoat. To our newly elected leaders: if you don’t believe the Constitution should apply to all citizens, don’t cozy up to us during your campaigns. The value of our profession doesn’t disappear once you’re in office. Let’s continue to work together for the good of our nation. #firstamendment #ethicsmatter #lobbying #wethepeople

A Reflection on Election Day and the State of Our Democracy As barricades are set up around the U.S. Capitol and other buildings in preparation for potential unrest on election day, it’s hard not to feel saddened by the sight. The United States, a beacon of democracy, should not look like the very countries we strive to support in establishing free elections. Democracy and voting should be an honor and a privilege—never a blood sport. The responsibility to uphold democracy rests not only with our leaders but with each of us. We must remember that voting is a powerful tool, one to wield with pride and purpose, not aggression. Violence has no place in our democratic process; it erodes the very values we hold dear and aligns us more with nations that seek to suppress, rather than protect, free expression. Political tolerance and civility are critical if we are to move forward. Our votes should be a statement, clear and honest—not a tool for destruction. And perhaps, we can prevent this cycle by demanding that candidates for the highest office represent integrity, experience, and competence. Our votes should go to those who elevate discourse, not to those who merely shout the loudest or serve party interests over the people’s will. Let us be reminded that our government is of, by, and for the people. This is both a privilege and a responsibility. We must hold ourselves accountable, conducting ourselves with the civility and respect that this right deserves. With every vote, we shape the future. Let’s make our choices worthy of the freedoms we are fortunate to have. Our U.S. Capitol should not look like a war zone. It should be a symbol of freedom, not violence.
