Dear Candace Owens, I have been watching your increasingly unhinged obsession with Jews. You have moved quickly through the, “just asking questions phase” to the “Jews are lurking and controlling the world phase”. Now you started “asking questions” about Jewish Supremacy. Apparently, Jews are trying to reign supreme over you. Well, I have some questions: How many people have we, Jews forced to convert throughout history (just one example will be sufficient)? How much was the jizia (tax) that we levied on non-Jews? How many people did Jews torture to adopt our beliefs? How many countries around the world have been forced to speak Hebrew after being colonized by Jews? The truth is Jews have done none of the Supremacist things you accuse us of. While as a Catholic your history is less defensible when the Church ruled, Jews never tried to rule the world - yet have been consistently accused of exactly what our accusers are guilty of. The opposite. Jews are one of the few faiths that believe non-Jews have an independent path to Heaven by simply not committing egregious acts. Candace, do you believe Jews go to heaven? I admit, you caught me, Candace. When I tuck my daughter in at night and pray with her, I tell her she is exceptional. I tell her that she comes from a long line of exceptional people. People who fought against immense adversity to bring goodness into our world. My daughter comes from immigrants who fled Germany and made a life for themselves. She is exceptional because she comes from a people that does not blame others for our problems, rather we work to make our lives better. We love knowledge and life and we yearn for light even in the darkest times. I teach her to be exceptional - but not because others are less, but because God created each of us to be exceptional.
