We recently celebrated the exciting launch of Milk Makeup at ULTA Beauty with an unforgettable dinner at Milk Studios in LA, where we had 60 amazing guests join us for an evening of beauty, creativity, and community ?? Our amazing Co-founder, Mazdack Rassi took the stage to share the story behind this milestone and what makes our partnership with ULTA so special ? The night was filled with unforgettable moments, from a fun photoshoot setup to artists capturing everyone “living their look” through gorgeous live paintings ???? ?? Lunch + Learn Recap ?? This week, we kicked off our Learn + Learn Series for the spring semester with the amazing Blossom Brown, our Social Consumer Engagement Manager! Blossom took us on a journey through her background, education, and professional path, sharing her experiences in teaching, activism, and social media influence. Blossom also touched on her multilingual background, career transitions, and the importance of ethical disruption in various professional settings. From her time as a teacher at a boarding school to working in a convent, she shared how she fought for gender inclusivity and advocated for removing dress codes for students. She spoke about her transition from teaching to social media and her successful journey to Milk Makeup. Blossom shared invaluable insights on navigating the corporate world, building new skills, and discovering leadership within her current role. Throughout her career, she has focused on driving moral and ethical disruption, and encouraged our interns to be disruptive in their roles in ways that align with their values and contribute to the greater good. Honoring Black History, Culture & Excellence at Milk Makeup This Black History Month, we came together to celebrate the beauty, innovation, and resilience of the Black community—honoring the past, engaging with the present, and inspiring the future. ?? Wellness Series Speaker Sessions We welcomed three incredible voices in beauty to share their journeys and insights: Roseline Lawrence (she/her) – A model and creative professional whose journey as a refugee from South Sudan shaped her passion for storytelling, fashion, and artistic expression. Ehlie Luna (she/her) – A beauty expert, makeup artist, educator, and content creator with over a decade of experience working with top brands and the New York City Ballet. Celessa Baker (she/her) – The Vice President of Marketing Partnerships at Sephora, responsible for shaping the retailer’s storytelling through first-to-market and culturally relevant initiatives. Their stories—rooted in creativity, diversity, and leadership—offered a deeper appreciation for the Black experience in our industry. A huge thank you to our inspiring speakers for sharing your time, wisdom, and experiences with us! ??? Culinary Celebration Food is a powerful way to honor culture. Each week, we enjoyed meals from Black-owned businesses, celebrating the rich culinary traditions of the African diaspora. We catered from: The Soul Spot (Southern Cuisine) File Gumbo Bar (Cajun) Jasmine’s Caribbean Cuisine (Caribbean) Debbie Girl’s Soul Food (Soul) For our remote employees, we ensured they could take part by supporting a Black-owned restaurant in their local area. ?? Learning & Reflection We shared curated resources—books, podcasts, and videos—to help our team continue their education on Black history and culture. Understanding the contributions of Black pioneers is essential to shaping a more inclusive and informed industry. At Milk Makeup, our commitment to inclusivity goes beyond just one month. We celebrate individuality, champion fearless innovation, and continuously strive to uplift diverse voices in beauty and beyond. To kick off this exciting journey, we had an incredible welcome lunch with some special guests—our amazing CEO, Tim Coolican, and Co-founder, Mazdack Rassi. ?? Tim and Rassi shared their inspiring journeys and gave our interns a deep dive into our Brand DNA, guiding them through the values that make Milk Makeup truly unique. They also spoke about our mission to create a space and beauty for ALL—emphasizing creativity, self-expression, and inclusivity. Innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to quality are at the heart of everything we do??? Our interns had an amazing lunch catered from Jerrel's Betr Brgr, a local Black-owned restaurant in NYC!
