Great job General Dynamics NASSCO!
Earlier this month, we took USNS Robert F. Kennedy (T-AO 208) out for sea trials! After a successful run on the open water, we want to thank our dedicated team and everyone on-board for their hard work in ensuring the ship performed remarkably. Watch the time-lapse video below to see the ship returning to shore as the night falls.??? #seatrials?#NASSCObuilt

This week’s Military Sealift Command “Ship in the Spotlight” is USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14). In the past month, Cesar Chavez has conducted replenishments-at-sea in the 7th Fleet area of operations providing logistics to Navy and allied ships, including the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Christened May 5, 2012, the ship honors Cesar Chavez, an American farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers. He is well known for his use of non-violent tactics that made the farm workers’ struggle a moral cause with nationwide support. Chavez also served in the Navy from 1944-1946.
