Michigan has made significant strides in sharing physical health information, yet there remain important opportunities to enhance behavioral health data sharing. Federal and state laws impose additional protections on certain types of health information, known as specially protected information (SPI). This includes data from 42 CFR Part 2 facilities, which manage sensitive substance use disorder information, underscoring the importance of navigating these regulations effectively to support integrated, holistic care. Join MiHIN today for the next installment of the?Download?as we recognize Substance Use Prevention Month and underscore the critical role that electronic consent management (eCMS) plays in furthering better care for patients, especially those in substance use disorder (SUD) programs.
