During Hispanic Heritage Month, we want to spotlight a local family-owned food business that's creating some buzz: Soldadera Beverages. Founded by siblings Gabriela and Mario Rodriguez-Garcia, Soldadera was inspired by a deep-seated family tradition of making Café de Olla, a coffee blend created during the Mexican Revolution. https://lnkd.in/guaHNjur

We are thrilled to share a success story from one of our favorite new Detroit food businesses: Sugah Please Breakfast, Brunch & Bar. Last week, our community celebrated the grand opening of Sugah Please in downtown Detroit. Be sure to check out this new coffee shop and brunch bar in the city! Owner Dr. Wendy Ringo has worked long and hard to have her vision of a fun, vibrant community space. She participated in BUILD Institute's Build Basics for Food Entrepreneurs, powered by the Michigan Good Food Fund, and worked to receive financing from five different partners in our lending network, including CDC Small Business Finance, Michigan Women Forward, Detroit Development Fund, CEED Lending, and Fair Food Network. With an outpouring of community support, Sugah Please is now open to the public.
