We're continuing to celebrate our 90th anniversary with a nod to our founder, Ben S. Summerwill. Ben served as deputy sheriff in Pierre, South Dakoka, prior to founding MidWestOne Bank. National Hispanic American Heritage Month is observed annually from September 15 to October 15 to promote the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans, so we are taking this opportunity to honor and celebrate the Hispanic Heritage of our employees! Yolanda Coreas, Assistant Manager at the West Liberty, Iowa, location has been with MidWestOne for 12 years. Yolanda tells us that her favorite thing about working here is the people she works with regularly. When asked what tradition she hopes to pass on to future generations, she said it would be tradition of making tamales in December to enjoy on Christmas day with the family. This annual tradition involves multiple generations gathering together to prepare tamales, have laughs, and enjoy connecting through deep conversations. Thank you for sharing with us, Yolanda!
