We recently completed a repair for a construction mistake. A contractor had cored five times through two heavily reinforced concrete beams, damaging the steel reinforcement. The EOR of the project's repair was extensive and difficult to construct, alternative repairs were desired. Midwest Engineering in partnership with Deep Foundation Group proposed an alternative repair with costs before any design had been completed. This complex solution took a lot of engineering talent and experienced installers, including calibrated anchors to 900 ft-lbs. We are the easy button, in a difficult world.

Cool project to be the EOR at, not many projects where you get to work on a 15-lane indoor shooting range, two class a burn buildings, a 6-story inferno tower, a massive administration building with a 911 call center in it: all on the same project. Good people and a good project. https://lnkd.in/g8tzWPXd

One of my favorite fast track projects. A tornado hit the Sioux Falls Kohls September 10, 2019. Three RTU's were rolled across the roof in different vectors, a 1,000 SF+ hole in the roof, and uplift pressures damaged thousands of additional square footage; based off damage we determined winds exceeded 110 mph+. Client needed the project complete for Black Friday, November 29, giving us 80 days to make the repairs. Existing bar joists at this time were 12-14 weeks out, which was not an option. Through a combination of fast tracking repairs and extensive site inspections, we were able to develop repair plans and oversee construction completing the project in under 70 days; allowing our client to have full use of the building for Black Friday.
