The conversation around menopause in the workplace is heating up—and for good reason. For years, menopause has been largely overlooked in workplace wellness strategies. But that’s changing. Not only are?Gen X employees already navigating menopause, but?Millennials, the largest workforce demographic—are now reaching the average age of perimenopause. And they’ll expect menopause benefits just as they do mental health and fertility support. The demand is clear: According Maven Clinic’s research, 76% of millennials and 65% of Gen-Xers say that menopause benefits would impact their desire to stay at their current company. At the same time, businesses are losing?$1.8 billion annually?due to menopause-related absenteeism (Mayo Clinic). This is not just a health issue, it’s a workplace issue. But here’s the challenge:?Offering menopause benefits isn’t enough if they exist in isolation.?A telehealth benefit or an annual webinar is a great & necessary step, but true impact comes when menopause support is?woven into workplace culture, policies, and leadership strategies. That’s where?MiDOViA’s Menopause Friendly Membership and Accreditation?makes a difference. We equip businesses with the?tools, resources, and guidance to create sustainable, long-term change,?ensuring that menopause isn’t just acknowledged, but?normalized, supported, and integrated into the very fabric of an organization. It’s time for companies to step up.?Menopause-friendly workplaces are not just a nice-to-have; they are the future of forward-thinking organizations. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we’d like to acknowledge the milestones and individuals shaping the future of women’s health—especially in menopause. For too long, this normal phase has been overlooked, leaving millions of women to navigate its challenges in silence. However, recent efforts have shed light on the profound impact of menopause, particularly in the workplace, and the advocates working to drive meaningful change. Menopause isn’t just a personal experience—it’s a workplace issue, too. With 20% of the workforce in some stage of menopause, it’s staggering that it remains an afterthought in most professional settings. The consequences are real: a Mayo Clinic study estimates that menopause-related symptoms contribute to an annual economic loss of $1.8 billion in the U.S. due to missed workdays. Despite this, stigma and lack of awareness persist, making the work of menopause advocates more critical than ever. Several individuals have stepped up to challenge outdated narratives and advocate for better support: ???Halle Berry?– After experiencing perimenopause symptoms for a decade before receiving a diagnosis, the award-winning actress launched?Respin Health, a wellness platform supporting women through menopause. She’s also actively involved in legislative efforts to improve menopause care, using her voice to dismantle stigma and push for policy change. ???Tamsen Fadal?– The award-winning journalist and author has emerged as a leading voice in menopause advocacy. Her upcoming book,?How To Menopause: Reclaim Your Health, Take Charge of Your Life and Feel Even Better Than Before, aims to help women navigate menopause with clarity and confidence. Beyond individuals, several organizations are making strides in workplace menopause support and healthcare access. A special shoutout to: - Maven Clinic?– Providing virtual care and expert support for women’s health, including menopause. - WebMD Health Services?– Empowering employees and health coaches with menopause education and resources through corporate wellness programs. - CVS Health?– Leading the way in corporate menopause awareness and benefits, ensuring employees have access to the care and support they need. - Pandia Health?– Advocating for women’s hormonal health and access to care. - Gennev?– Offering menopause-specific healthcare services and resources. - Midi Health?– Specializing in telehealth services tailored to menopause management. Menopause awareness isn’t just about health—it’s about ensuring women feel supported in every stage of life. By uplifting these advocates and organizations, we’re moving closer to a future where menopause is met with understanding, not silence. #WomensHistoryMonth #MenopauseAwareness #EquityAtWork #WorkplaceWellness
