Despite a modest increase from 4% in 2022 to 5% in 2024, the percentage of U.S. employers offering menopause-specific benefits remains strikingly low. This statistic, highlighted in a recent SHRM article, underscores the critical gap in workplace support for employees navigating menopause. With nearly half of the workforce expected to experience menopause at some point in their careers, the lack of resources and accommodations can lead to increased absenteeism, decreased productivity, and higher turnover rates. At?MiDOViA, we understand that workplaces can no longer afford to overlook this vital aspect of employee health and well-being. That’s why we partner with organizations to: - Develop and implement tailored menopause support programs. - Provide training and education to foster understanding and inclusivity. Review policies and practices to ensure they address menopause-related needs. - Offer ongoing resources that empower employees and managers alike. - Our Menopause Friendly Membership and Accreditation program is designed to guide organizations in creating a supportive, inclusive culture that helps employees thrive both personally and professionally. By addressing menopause in the workplace, organizations can enhance employee retention, improve productivity, and demonstrate their commitment to a culture of care. Today marks the start of Transgender Awareness Week—a time to recognize and celebrate people of all gender expressions and identities, including transgender and non-binary individuals who also experience menopause. Menopause isn't limited to women; anyone born with ovaries or undergoing certain hormonal transitions may experience it. Hot flashes, mood changes, and other symptoms are common and can profoundly impact daily life and work. For many in the transgender community, discussing these experiences in the workplace can be challenging. A lack of understanding and inclusive support can make it difficult to seek help, especially when traditional support systems overlook diverse menopause experiences. Creating menopause-friendly workplaces means ensuring everyone, regardless of gender identity, feels safe, understood, and supported. This week, let’s commit to opening up these conversations, breaking down barriers, and fostering an environment where all employees can thrive through every stage of life. Let’s celebrate diversity, amplify awareness, and champion inclusive support in our workplaces. #TransgenderAwarenessWeek #MenopauseAwareness #InclusiveWorkplaces #Support

Recapping some surprising takeaways from The [M] Factor screenings. Many in the audience were astonished by facts like these: - Menopause impacts oral health just as much as any other part of the body. - Testosterone is produced in a female’s body & doesn’t only influence libido. - Ethnicity can affect the length and severity of menopause symptoms. At MiDOViA, we’re thrilled to partner with The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause to provide free workplace resources aimed at empowering employees and organizations. Education is empowering—when we know, we can better take care of ourselves and advocate for what we need. There were countless more takeaways from the film. We encourage everyone to watch it! Check out local screenings at?www.themfactorfilm.com. If you're part of an organization that values attracting and retaining one of the largest demographic groups in the U.S., consider taking the next step by offering menopause support. In 2024, fewer than 4% of organizations offered menopause benefits. By 2025, only 15% plan to do so. Let’s create real, sustainable change together. Reach out to us—we’re here to help.

Our executive team just returned from the Women in Work Summit US in NYC, where we gained fresh insights into how organizations are adapting to today’s labor market. Here are a few key takeaways: New Labor Realities: With shifting birthrates, longer careers, and rising health needs, companies are focusing on retention over recruitment. Equity and wellness start at the top. Transforming for Wellness: A leading organization shared its journey in prioritizing health through adaptive policies and cultural initiatives, showing that policies are just paper without real action. Data That Matters: Meaningful data helps organizations support employees across life stages, tracking metrics like health needs, engagement, and turnover. Insights from areas like caregiving accommodations, DEI program participation, and flexible work requests foster a supportive culture that encourages retention and growth. Engaging Men in Equity: Male allyship is essential for workplace equity, with 96% of organizations seeing progress when men are involved, versus only 30% otherwise. By challenging biases and normalizing conversations around caregiving and health, men play a vital role in creating a supportive environment for all. Menopause as a Workplace Priority:?The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause?film highlighted menopause as a public health crisis with economic impacts. Millions experience symptoms and career disruptions due to stigma and lack of support, underscoring the need for awareness, education, and reform. Focus on Retention: Organizations are realizing that retaining mid- and late-career employees is essential to productivity and competitiveness. Strategies now address caregiving, mental health, and life transitions like menopause, fostering loyalty and trust. These insights emphasize the need for workplaces that truly value and empower employees, ensuring a resilient and inclusive workforce. At MiDOViA, we’re proud to be at the forefront, providing the expertise and guidance companies need to transform these insights into impactful actions that truly empower their teams. Together, we’re setting a new standard for workplace wellness and equity.
