Across the country, fraudsters posing as deputies and officers are trying to scam residents out of money for fictitious fines and fees. At the MSO, we've created a new PSA designed to help educate the public about these arrest scams.

Please join us in congratulating Assistant Deputy Superintendent Nicholas Gianino who was honored today as Training Officer of the Year at the Massachusetts Sheriffs' Association Law Enforcement & Corrections Awards Ceremony. Congrats to Deputy Gianino on this well deserved recognition!

This week,?#51stBTA?recruits covered Mental Health First Aid - a course designed to teach COs how to assist and support incarcerated individuals experiencing mental health and substance abuse challenges. One week until these recruits are officially sworn in as members of the MSO!

Director of Community Affairs Ken Doucette was invited to speak to students in Tewksbury High School's Introduction to Criminal Justice class today! During the discussion, Ken talked about our innovative programs & the wide array of career opportunities at the MSO. #WeAreTheMSO

Sheriff Koutoujian & members of the MSO were on hand this morning for the kickoff of the annual Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement conference. Members of our team joined women from across the law enforcement community for a day of networking & training on topics like leadership development & recruitment.

This week, #51stBTA recruits focused on one of the most important skills a corrections professional can use inside a jail -- de-escalation & communication. Thank you to our staff for facilitating scenarios these recruits are likely to encounter on the job!
