Business Oregon's Rural Opportunity Initiative (ROI) program works with community partners to help rural businesses in Oregon achieve their goals! One example is an award from the ROI program to the Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD). The MCEDD used their awarded funds to support Native company chan'bla'ska, who is paving the way for greater representation in action sports by fusing contemporary skate style with rich cultural influences. The Travel Portland Education and Training Foundation, in partnership with the Portland Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC), is offering scholarships for up to five businesses to participate in a 10-month training program for small businesses in the hospitality and tourism industry. This program is designed to help businesses increase revenue, improve operations and marketing strategies, overcome challenges and gain new perspectives to support sustainable growth.
