On Tuesday, March 11, Our Civic Health team members Layvin and Karlita enjoyed introducing to Hoover High students two amazing apps designed for young people ages 13-25, and for caretakers and families of children under 12, respectively. Both apps are free to use and require no insurance or referrals. Soluna provides youth with tools for mental wellness, including daily affirmations, guided breathing exercises, journaling prompts, and articles on common issues like stress management and body image. BrightLife Kids provides resources to support everything from basic child development to addressing challenges such as anxiety or helping someone who is being bullied. Both apps offer live coaching, messaging, and accessibility options for those without a mobile phone. Thank you to Hoover High for inviting us! Interested in having our team visit your school? The group met with State Senators and Assemblymembers to discuss budget requests and bills ABMoC is sponsoring this year, mainly on reducing the harms of the juvenile justice system.
