This past Tuesday,?we had the privilege of hosting Arlen Hooks, Portfolio Manager at JLL Charlotte, for our Real Estate Career Speaker Series. Arlen shared his inspiring journey into the real estate industry, emphasizing the power of networking with intention, and the importance of ‘earning the ask’. A couple of key takeaways from his presentation: ? Real Estate = Numbers + Storytelling & Questions – If you can't sell yourself, how are you going to sell a $100m property? ? Be Bold, but Rational – "I've bet on myself up to this point, why stop now?" ? Prioritize People over Postings – You can't predict a job opening, but you can position yourself for success when the right opportunity arises ? Last Friday we traveled to Chicago for our annual trek. Selected participants were given the opportunity to learn from inspiring industry professionals and experience the city.
