The non-profit?Michigan Music Alliance?is pleased to announce recent changes to the Executive Board, as?John Sinkevics?of Local Spins ascends to the role of organization president. MMA founding members?Bill?and?Binnie Chrysler, Sheridan Tongue?and?Liz Pellegrom?will shift to participation as a newly established advisory council.?? “We are beyond thrilled about the current direction and momentum building behind the Michigan Music Alliance for 2022,” says?Elle Lively, Executive Director, “Having John step into the leadership role, with his encyclopedic knowledge of Michigan music, is an exciting development for the organization.? John Sinkevics is a lifelong journalist who launched the Local Spins website covering West Michigan's music scene, back in 2012. After serving as a lead music critic and entertainment writer for The Grand Rapids Press for 10 years, he now serves as editor and publisher of highly regarded webzine?www.LocalSpins.com. The MMA is welcoming two new members to the executive board now, with two seats to be filled later this year.??Music producer/DJ, entrepreneur and technologist,?andrea (dre) wallace and?April Jendrasiak, shifting from her role as lead project coordinator for the highly ambitious 2021 statewide virtual music festival?Spread the Music, which featured more than 200 artists over five days, live streaming from studios, venues and living rooms in every corner of Michigan.? Continuing MMA executive board members, who are seated for a three-year term include?Chris Newberg, attorney and partner at Rodenhouse Law Group, and?Nancy Schoenheide-Phares , formerly of the Detroit Music Awards Foundation and Michigan State Fair, LLC. The Michigan Music Alliance (501c3) is a volunteer-run nonprofit focused on fostering a Michigan Music Scene that thrives on diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and celebrating the sounds that create community.
