Congratulations to Dr. Adam Lauring, who will serve as the new Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases effective April 1st. Dr. Lauring is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School and Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. We cannot become complacent – instead we need to accelerate action by supporting equity. To quote the great Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.” I accelerate action by unabashedly amplifying women’s voices and rejecting all those who want to dictate how women can act, speak, or choose.
