As soon as Tuesday 3-11-2025, the House of Representatives will consider a government funding “continuing resolution” to prevent a government shutdown. But this bill could have drastic negative impacts on lupus research. Not only does the bill slash funding for medical research sponsored by the Department of Defense by more than $800 million (that’s 57 percent), but it would remove a requirement that has existed since 2017 to spend a portion of that funding devoted specifically to lupus research. ACT NOW - time is of the essence: find your Representative and tell them that the continuing resolution must be fixed to protect lupus research! https://bit.ly/3DuBC6t

The Michigan Lupus Foundation is launching a unique story-driven campaign to spread awareness about lupus and help raise funds to ensure the longevity of the foundation. With the help of Daniel Hills and BrandComix, a division of Comix Wellspring, we’re creating "The Invisible Illness" — an original comic book that illustrates the real struggles of living with lupus and the life-changing support our foundation provides. Stay tuned for more details!

The Michigan Lupus Foundation is seeking Grand Rapids area volunteers to work a concession stand during Griffin & Rise games, concerts and other events at Van Andel Arena during the months of April & May. A percentage of sales will be donated back to the Michigan Lupus Foundation, which will be crucial to our current capital campaign. Every event will need a few individuals to complete an online ServSafe course for alcohol sales. If you’re interested in volunteering, dm us or email [email protected].

The Michigan Lupus Foundation has launched an urgent capital campaign to raise emergency funds by May 1 to ensure the nonprofit is able to continue offering support services for those with lupus in the state of Michigan. Without the critical funding, the foundation will be forced to close its doors this spring. Read more about how you can help below.
