Had a blast announcing to the world we've been accepted into Velocity's Accelerator Program during Michigan Tech Week at Newlab in the amazing Michigan Central revived into excellence by Ford Motor Company! We were there on University Day, and were able listen to amazing student pitches as well as tell the students (and many others) about the incredible opportunities Velocity and other Michigan SmartZones funded by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation have to offer for entrepreneurs and tech-based companies right here in Michigan! Was fun showcasing how our Response Devices are used to gather honest, fully-anonymous feedback and data, and we were blown away at how in a world dominated by APPs, students and professionals alike were taken by the ease of use, reliability, and fun our solutions have to offer. We walked away from the event with direct leads, new partnerships and further proof that people of all ages are looking for straightforward, safe ways to be included, share their voices, and be engaged. More fuel for the fire as we start our Accelerator Program, and we can't wait to show you the many other collaborations we're cooking up with Velocity! On Tuesday we had over 80 local students attend The Battery Show! ?? Students received a tour of the show floor, a panel discussion from industry leaders, and many hands-on activities focusing on electricity. They even heard from Michigan Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II! The afternoon was spent at Michigan Central for tours of Newlab and Google Code Next! ?? In addition, there was a presentation from the Michigan Department of Transportation and Electreon to learn all about the first public wireless Electric Road System! ?? Yesterday evening was filled with community, history and celebration as more than 200 people came out to recognize Hispanic/Latinx tech innovation and entrepreneurship at Newlab at Michigan Central ?? This year's event theme was "Reclaiming Our Legacy: Our Past, Our Present, Our Future." ?? Margarita Hernandez, PhD of 4M moderated a panel discussion with Angela Reyes of Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, Tanya Saldivar-Ali of AGI Construction Solutions and Samantha S Cerwin of BeReworn ?? Alondra Carter-Alvizo, MUP of Michigan Central and Carlos Santacruz of Fair Food Network served as the emcees. Gabriela Santiago-Romero, councilwoman for Detroit's District 6, and historian, activist and musician Ozzie Rivera delivered final remarks. ?? Attendees enjoyed musical and dance performances by RicanStruction and M&A DanceLab Studio. ??
