关于我们
The Michigan Center for Rural Health (MCRH) is Michigan's non-profit State Office of Rural Health. MCRH plays a key role in rural health care by assisting in the creation and implementation of partnerships among organizations, health departments, hospitals, government and academia. Those collaborations and alliances go on to create new opportunities in the areas of network development, quality of care, emergency medical services, continuing education, and recruitment and retention of rural health care providers. Our Vision: " The Michigan Center for Rural Health will be universally recognized as the center for expertise for rural health in Michigan through creative and visionary education, service, and research.” Our Mission: "To coordinate, plan, and advocate for improved health for Michigan's rural residents and communities."

Strength of Rural Spotlight: Kiersten’s Ride-Turning Tragedy into Help, Hope, and Healing Each month, the Michigan Center for Rural Health highlights organizations and individuals making a lasting impact in rural communities through the Strength of Rural Spotlight Series. For March, we recognize Kiersten’s Ride, a Northern Michigan nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, education, and support. Born out of tragedy, this organization has transformed personal loss into a mission of hope—providing evidence-based training like ASIST and safeTALK, as well as grief support for those affected by suicide. By making mental health resources more accessible, Kiersten’s Ride is breaking barriers and saving lives. Few Veterans qualify for dental care through the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The Michigan Center for Rural Health and its I-REACH Rural Veterans program are working with the Delta Dental Foundation, the Michigan Dental Association Foundation, My Community Dental Centers and Federally Qualified Health Centers to close the gaps in dental care for Veterans. I-REACH works to expand awareness and access to healthcare for underserved Veterans. Oral health plays a significant role in this as overall health indicators can be identified during routine checkups. Learn more about I-REACH: https://lnkd.in/edPNEtEV #miruralhealth #oralhealth
