Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. #ChristTheKing #KingOfTheUniverse #Solemnity

This Sunday is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, and bishops & priests are encouraged to preach on religious liberty, given that the feast was born out of resistance to totalitarian incursions against religious liberty. More here: https://cthl.cc/ujn7w

Earlier this week, nearly 200 grassroots advocates with the Catholic-affiliated group Strangers No Longer visited lawmaker offices and Governor Gretchen Whitmer's office to continue the push to restore driver's license access for immigrants before the end of session. Both Sen. Stephanie Chang and State Representative Rachel Hood, who support the package, took time to speak with advocates and encouraged them. Life without a driver's license in Michigan is extremely challenging, and immigrants who have been living in Michigan cannot legally drive themselves to work, or their children to school or doctor's appointments, because they cannot apply for driver's licenses or state ID. Restoring access to driver’s licenses for undocumented individuals is not about encouraging illegal immigration or open borders, nor does this policy give the undocumented the right to vote. Rather, MCC supports this policy in keeping with its advocacy principle to welcome and support immigrants and refugees in recognition of their dignity as human beings. For people living in Michigan, a driver's license is crucial for living a dignified life. MCC will continue to advocate for lawmakers to take up this legislation before session ends to promote the dignity of our immigrant brothers and sisters.

November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and an opportune time to remember that the Church calls each of us to the responsibility of walking alongside those who are dying or sick. #GoodSamaritan #Hospice #PalliativeCare
