关于我们
Michael Stars was founded in 1986 with one simple premise: to make people happy. Co-founders, Michael Cohen and Suzanne Lerner, set out to create effortless fashion that was timeless and comfortable—meant to go with people wherever they went in life. What started with an iconic, one-sized tee, that created a fashion movement, has evolved into a collection of essentials; crafted with quality and made to last. As a women-led and family-owned business, Michael Stars continues to produce the majority of its garments in Los Angeles to ensure quality production and provide fair wages and economic opportunity for the community. The Michael Stars Foundation, established by Michael and Suzanne more than 15 years ago, is a major supporter of grassroots organizations building critical pathways to equality.

Summer at home. ? Living in Manhattan Beach, I love wearing our lightweight linen, breezy double gauze, and pieces that have easy, relaxed fits. Each of my top picks for summer are styles that can easily be mixed and matched - so you can create a thoughtfully curated, sustainable wardrobe for the season. xo Suzanne Lerner

The Michael Stars Foundation is proud to partner with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides children living in poverty across the country with diapers, clothing, and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Through their important work, they have provided 450 million basic essentials to families in need over the last 13 years. In addition to a monetary donation, our team volunteered at Baby2Baby's HQ earlier this month for a rewarding morning bundling up bags filled with basic essentials for new mothers in need.

This Earth Day, we’re highlighting SUPIMA? – our partners for over 20 years! Our SUPIMA? Cotton tees and tanks are sustainably and ethically made with extra-long staple fibers for extra softness, strength, and durability. It’s twice as strong as regular cotton and made to last through years of wear, so your favorite tee can be a staple in your closet through all seasons of life. 90% of SUPIMA cotton is grown in our own backyard of the San Joaquin Valley, and ethical farming practices help create a superior fiber that minimally impacts the environment. And with their traceability technology, it’s the first fiber that can be 100% traced back to the land it was grown on – and through every step of the supply chain. We’d say its superiority complex is well deserved. ?? #EarthMonth

It’s Earth Month, which means it’s a time for us to take a look at what we’re doing for the planet – and how we can continuously improve our practices. ?? For starters, Michael Stars is a B Corp, so we’re always looking for new ways to be better for our community. We know that all our small actions add up to create a big impact! More than using eco-friendly fabrics like SUPIMA? cotton and linen, over 80% of our products are made in our hometown of Los Angeles to ensure high quality, fair wages, and a smaller carbon footprint. Because of this, our emissions from transportation and imports are much lower than those who produce outside of the United States. We believe in using business as a force for good and are committed to keeping the vast majority of production in LA, providing employment and contributing to the local economy. This is just one way we’re making good on that promise. B Lab U.S. & Canada #EarthMonth

I've been a Michael Stars fan for a VERY long time. From the very first t-shirt I purchased with my own money, I knew that it was well made and that I was paying for quality. Fast forward 30+ years (!) and I was delighted to interview our incredible client Suzanne Lerner - a pioneer in the retail industry - about her path to becoming a #bcorp. Achieving excellence within the retail sector necessitates a concerted effort characterized by diligent work and deliberate strategic planning. Michael Stars has done that, every step of the way. From choosing to produce locally in LA to starting the Michael Stars Foundation, and most recently becoming a Certified B Corp, every step of the way has been driven by purpose. Suzanne Lerner has been recognized many times for her lifetime commitment and achievements in furthering the agenda and rights of women worldwide.?We are inspired by her and honored to call her a client. https://lnkd.in/eMa29whr

As the first part of the year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the amazing work our team has accomplished in these few short months. From our B Corp certification to the organizations we’ve been able to support through the Michael Stars Foundation, we’re so proud of the work we’re able to do as a team each and every day.

It’s Global Recycling Day! As a B Corp, a portion of our certification reviewed our environmental impact. While our clothing is meant to last generations, we know that not everyone keeps their clothes forever. That’s why we partnered with ThredUP to make recycling your used clothing a breeze – plus, it’s a great way to shop preloved Michael Stars styles. Request your ThredUp Clean Out Kit at michaelstars.thredup.com and fill a box with your gently used clothing – from any brand. Drop it in the mail and you’ll receive credit toward your next Michael Stars purchase. Another option for clothing that’s in poor condition, or even fabric scraps from your sewing projects, is the For Days Take Back Bag. You’ll get $20 in Closet Cash when you order your bag, and use it to shop Michael Stars products right on the For Days marketplace. #BCorpMonth
