Hospitability Design recently featured our work on Sway's new location in Aspen, Colorado, which we had the pleasure of designing in collaboration with our clients, New Waterloo and Infinite Hospitality. “Sway’s Aspen location is a carefully designed space, but not too precious,” says Michael Hsu, principal of his eponymous firm. “Hand-crafted elements are special and add to the experience, though they are developed with everyday, relatable materials." Austin Business Journal sat down with Michael Hsu to discuss the design of The Kitchen and it's addition to the Austin community. 'Designing The Kitchen’s fourth restaurant at Sixth and Guadalupe was different from Musk’s other locations in Chicago, Denver and Boulder, Colorado, that opened in existing buildings. Hsu had to create the character from scratch. “Designing a restaurant is really like an investigation in like human behavior and human response to environmental cues," he said.'
