Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible resilience, courage, and dedication of Deputy Damian Colon. Nearly two and a half years ago, Deputy Colon was shot in the line of duty, defying all odds in his recovery. Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, he officially retired from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. His unwavering strength and commitment to protecting our community will never be forgotten. Congratulations on your retirement, Deputy Colon – your legacy of bravery and perseverance will continue to inspire us all.

Major Gonzalez of the Northwest District hosted a retirement party for Mr. Jean Bellerive, a beloved member of the MDSO family by way of Goodwill South Florida, which places 31 employees throughout MDSO facilities. Mr. Jean, as he is affectionately known, has cleaned the District station from top to bottom for 13 years, and has consistently exceeded standards alongside co-worker Inadia Gar?on, who has been at the District for 20 years. Join us in wishing Mr. Jean a happy retirement.
