This weekend, our members had the incredible opportunity to travel to New York City - a fantastic trip organized by our president Robert Nahigian. The club had the chance to visit and network with financial professionals at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (MMBSI) and Goldman Sachs (Investment Banking and Sales & Trading). ? Introducing the Spring 2025 New Member Class! After a rigorous multi-stage selection process, these outstanding individuals emerged from a competitive applicant pool by showcasing exceptional professionalism and a deep understanding of finance. As new members of MUCBC, they will now embark on an immersive journey through our New Member Education (NME) program. This semester, NME will offer a deep dive into capital structure, hands-on Excel training that includes modeling a debt waterfall, and practical experience with Bloomberg. Through these dynamic sessions, our new members will not only refine their technical and analytical skills but also build lasting connections with industry professionals, positioning them for success in their financial careers.

This week, the Miami University Banking Club had the pleasure of hosting Jeffrey Fisher, David Beckett and Zachary Sence from PNC. Jeff, a Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Large Corporate Banking in Cincinnati, shared insights from his 20-year career at PNC, as well as his experience with Debt Capital Markets and Corporate Finance. David, a Senior Vice President and Credit Products Manager, provided outlook into risk management in large corporate deals, syndications, and a run down of the capital structure. Zach, a recent Miami graduate and Corporate Banking Analyst in PNC’s Development Program, shared his experience transitioning from Miami to PNC, offering valuable advice on career development and the firm’s internship program. In addition to sharing their expertise, the PNC team discussed the firm’s role as one of the largest diversified financial institutions in the U.S. and the exciting opportunities within their corporate banking division. They also led an interactive case study, giving members a look at real-world financial decision-making. Thank you, Jeff, David, and Zach, for engaging with our members and sharing your knowledge. This week, the Miami University Banking Club was honored to host?Solomia Semenyuk, a distinguished Miami alum and Digital Asset Analyst at Goldman Sachs! Solo shared her expertise in digital assets, discussing cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and the impressive work her team at Goldman Sachs has done in pioneering the Bitcoin ETF. She provided invaluable insights into the Global Banking and Markets division, particularly the GS Digital Asset Platform, and how Goldman Sachs is preparing the way for financial infrastructure. Solo also highlighted her journey from active involvement in numerous Miami University organizations, including MUBC presidency and VP roles, to her current position at a global financial firm. The Miami University Banking Club was thrilled to welcome Ian Chenkus, CFA, Claire Bewalda, and Aaron Pitcock from J.P. Morgan this past Wednesday. Ian shared his knowledge in the Financial Sponsors Group and Asset-Based Lending, highlighting the importance of private equity financing and alternative lending solutions. Claire, a recently named VP in Healthcare Services, provided insights into relationship management and growth within middle market healthcare. Aaron, a Miami alum and JPM Commercial Banking VP, shared his journey from retail banking to serving Columbus-based middle market companies across various industries. He also explained his role in providing additional services like Treasury Management. Each speaker showcased diverse career paths within J.P.
