#OurCounty recently welcomed home 14 of its Miami-Dade County Solid Waste Management code enforcement and bulky waste employees after they volunteered to deploy for two weeks to help their Florida neighbors in Sarasota with hurricane recovery efforts.

In observance of the 10th annual Imagine a Day Without Water, Miami-Dade's Water and Sewer Department hosted a community event to remind #OurCounty of our most invaluable resource: reliable drinking water. Attendees interacted with industry leaders and learned how they can save water every day.

With hurricane and rainy season underway, #OurCounty’s Mayor Levine Cava and Commissioner Steinberg hosted a roundtable, bringing together county and municipal leadership to discuss opportunities for collaboration and confront challenges associated with flooding events and water resource management in Miami-Dade County.

#OurCounty celebrated the launch of shore power at PortMiami! Shore power allows cruise ships to turn off their engines and plug into landside electrical power while docked, resulting in reduced emissions and noise.

#OurCounty has broken ground for the South Dade Transit Operations Center. The innovative complex will support the South Dade TransitWay and its bus rapid transit vehicles while also creating jobs and boosting the area's economy.

Transit-oriented, mixed-use apartment complex Somi Parc is officially open in #OurCounty. The new housing project features 172 units with family-oriented and state-of-the-art amenities, including 80 units of workforce housing catering to individuals earning 60% to 80% of the area median income.

In honor of #EarthMonth, #OurCounty celebrated its 42nd annual Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, bringing thousands of volunteers together to clean marine debris and litter along the shorelines.?
