    #ArtOpening --> The Contemporary Art Modern Project (The CAMP Gallery) is pleased to announce the opening of their annual fiber exhibition, '77 Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse, FAMA and Guests: We Got The Power'. The exhibition is curated by gallery founder and director, Melanie Prapopoulos, and assistant director Maria Gabriela Di Giammarco. Opening on Friday, October 11th from 7 – 10pm, the sixth edition of this exhibition series draws inspiration from Lysistrata by Aristophanes, and Spike Lee’s response to organized violence in Chi-Raq. Honoring the play and its era, over 100 pieces were made for the open call, all touching on themes of violence, war, sexual power, the patriarchy, and the power of women. These artworks will be installed as a continuous frieze throughout the gallery space, up until the end of the year. This event is free & open to the public, RSVP via link.     #ArtoftheDay --> 'Another Wild Saturday Night', 36”x50” (2024) by Miami-based artist Hermes Berrío. Berrío received his BFA from New York University (2005). In recent years, he has participated in group and solo exhibitions around the world for galleries and institutions in USA, Latin America, Europe and Australia. He has also completed a number of murals, with the most recent installations throughout the city of Miami. Berrío has been awarded numerous awards including The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2018 and 2022, in 2019 he was awarded The Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation Grant, in 2023 he was the recipient of a South Florida Cultural Consortium Grant, and in 2023 and 2024 the Miami Individual Artist (MIA) Grant. He was a Fountainhead Studio artist resident from 2019 to 2024. He continues to evolve his practice, investigating new processes and mediums, while challenging contemporary expectations with his prodigious compositions. www.hermesberrio.com
