Last month at the MML Annual Convention, former MME President Christine Burns was recognized with the John M. Patriarche Distinguished Services Award for her contributions over a career of service to communities and the profession. Chris' husband Bill was present to accept the award on her behalf.

Election Day in Michigan!

Michigan Local Government Managers gathered in Marquette last week to connect, re-connect, grow, engage, celebrate, commiserate, and blow off some oent up steam. It was a remarkable experience. There were many takeaways, but none so poignant as when Juan Ganum gathered those present to create an in-the-fly get well card for our friend and colleague Gregg Guetschow, who was unable to attend and was unexpectedly hospitalized. We can help look after each other, and we cannot take care of our communities if we don’t take care of ourselves and our colleagues. What a great week, thanks to all who made it happen!
