Our 2021 needs assessment findings were recently published! This brief report in Psychiatric Services, a journal of the American Psychiatric Association, outlines the results of a national survey assessing the training and technical assistance needs of individuals who work in mental health. These results reflect a need to address existing inequities in mental health services, particularly for communities of color, as well as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nation's mental health. We developed a 7-hour course, Prioritizing Racial Equity and Advancing Cultural Humility in the Workplace: Real Change for Real Lives, to increase awareness of the importance of culturally responsive practices in behavioral health and recovery-oriented care. The course offers practical guidance and evidence-based resources to support agencies and organizations on their journey toward enhancing equitable practices in behavioral health access, treatment, recovery, and care.
