MHH clinical services was established in 1999 by Dr. Merrith Harris Hockmeyer, Ph.D. (MHH), with a mission to provide clinical services to people with developmental disabilities and the general population who needed help with Mental health, Occupational therapy, and Speech therapy. MHH has provided long-term clinical services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and others for the past two decades. MHH Clinical Services is an OPWDD-approved vendor that provides clinical services, including evaluations and therapeutic services for various age groups for different populations, including I/DD. MHH is also an IPSIDD provider to provide clinical services to individuals with I/DD population. MHH is a multi-practice clinical group that provides the following: Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy Speech /Language Therapy Dysphagia/Swallow Evaluation and Therapy Psychotherapy (including Psychosexual Counseling) Psychology /psychosocial/Psycho Sexual evaluations Audiological Services and Hearing Aid Fitting Nutritional Counseling Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse Services Other Services

Swallowing difficulties, known as dysphagia, are a common yet often overlooked issue among adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). Dysphagia can lead to serious health risks like choking, malnutrition, dehydration, and respiratory complications such as aspiration pneumonia. These risks increase for adults with ID/DD due to challenges in motor control and communication, making it essential to identify and address the problem early. At MHH Clinical Services, we understand the unique needs of this population. Our expert clinicians, including skilled Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), are trained in evaluating and treating swallowing disorders specifically in adults with ID/DD.
