Last week, our Executive Director, Janie Gullickson, had the privilege of joining fellow behavioral health leaders and legislators at Mahonia Hall, organized by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek and First Lady Aimee Kotek. We are grateful for the Governor’s dedication to expanding access to care for those seeking support for mental health and addiction challenges. Meaningful change happens when we come together to advocate for recovery and well-being. #MentalHealthMatters #AddictionRecovery

Recovery Campus is more than just a building—it is a space designed with intention, offering safety, dignity, and support to those experiencing mental health and addiction challenges. As MHAAO’s new headquarters, it will serve as a place where individuals can engage with peer support, find community, and take steps toward recovery in an environment built for their needs. We are deeply grateful to Holst Architecture for their thoughtful approach in designing a space that is comfortable, welcoming, and trauma-informed. Their work ensures that Recovery Campus will not only be functional but will foster effective, safe, peer-delivered services for years to come. We look forward to the role this space will play in the lives of so many in our community.

?? Congratulations to Justin Yarger! ?? We’re thrilled to celebrate our Peer Support Specialist, Justin Yarger, who has received the Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Addiction Medicine from the Oregon Society of Addiction Medicine (ORSAM). Justin’s dedication to supporting individuals on their recovery journey reflects the core of peer support—real, impactful change. We’re incredibly fortunate to have him on our team! A heartfelt thank you to ORSAM for acknowledging the vital role of peer support and for continuing to uplift peer spaces across the state. It’s through these peer-driven spaces that we can truly make a lasting difference in people’s lives. Justin’s work with the Kaiser Northwest team highlights the importance of strong partnerships in maximizing the effectiveness of peer support. By collaborating with Kaiser Permanente Northwest and our other program partners, we can expand the reach of peer support across various settings. These partnerships are crucial to our ability to provide the best possible care and support to those who need it most. It’s this network of program partners, community support, and dedicated peer workers that helps us create a stronger, more connected Oregon. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact, one step at a time. ?? #MHAAO #PeerSupport #AddictionRecovery #MentalHealth #CommunityPartners #KaiserNW #ORSAM #Oregon #MakingADifference
