2024 was a year of challenges and hope. MHACC supported thousands of families with professionalism and care. From cities to villages, from communities to Congress, we build bridges for mental health. Our team hosted around 300 group sessions and completed 3,500 individual consultations, reaching over 10,000 people total. We established four service centers in Castro Valley, Oakland, Fremont, and San Francisco. https://lnkd.in/djz-eEBc

Empowering Chinese Communities Through Mental Health Awareness and Support. One in four U.S. adults faces mental disorders. In the Asian American community, stigma and language barriers make finding help challenging. Established in 2012 in California, the Mental Health Association for Chinese Communities (MHACC) strives to enhance mental health services for the Chinese community, breaking down these barriers. Our Services: Warmline: A judgment-free zone for sharing fears and doubts. Support Groups: Healing through community support. Classes: Spreading knowledge and understanding through educational sessions. Mobile Apps: Providing continuous, intelligent support. Outreach: Engaging with the community through active programs. On February 22, the 3rd Annual AAPI Lunar New Year Parade, brought vibrant celebrations to Oakland Chinatown! MHACC's giant panda float led the parade, symbolizing warmth and unity. The parade wasn’t just a celebration—it was a testament to the community’s resilience and revival. On Feb 15, tens thousands celebrated the Lunar New Year Parade in San Francisco, welcoming the Year of the Snake! MHACC proudly debuted its “Hope Float”, promoting mental health awareness at this event. From lion dances to a 500-drone light show, the night was a stunning blend of culture and technology.
