On Friday, Engineering News-Record (ENR) announced the winners of their 2024 MidAtlantic Best Projects, and we're thrilled that our 20 Massachusetts Avenue NW project was recognized as the Best Project in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category. In just over two years, the 1970s-era, seven-story office building was completely reimagined into a 485,000 SF mixed-use destination. Featuring a 274 key luxury hotel and Class A office space, this project added 101,000 SF of new space and two stunning atria that flood the interior with natural light. Sustainability was key, with 75% of waste recycled, a green roof, and energy-efficient glazing. The DC’s first factory-built custom bathroom pods also streamlined construction. MGAC was engaged to provide expert project and cost management services on the redevelopment of Atlantic Square, one of Glasgow's most sustainable commercial developments. The goal was to incorporate the existing fa?ade into the new design, keeping the detailed stonework at ground level, which accompanies modern glass towers above. We worked with our client to ensure the project was delivered successfully.
We're loving how much our newly refurbished reception and mezzanine space is being used. It’s great to see this flexible area buzzing with meetings and events. A huge thank you to MGAC Quantity Surveyors, MLA Architects, and the M&E Consultant team at CBRE UK for bringing this vision to life. #GlasgowFSD #glasgowofficecommunity #glasgowofficespace
