We had a great time celebrating the topping out of the Ritz-Carlton Residences South Tower, Estero Bay! Developed by London Bay Development Group and designed by Arquitectonica, this property takes inspiration from the natural surroundings, and offers residents sunset views of the bay and 36,000 square feet of amenities, spanning wellness, dining, and entertainment. Located within the 500-acre Saltleaf on Estero Bay master plan, the two-tower development will bring 224 luxury condominiums to the waterfront upon completion. The North Tower, which is planned as the next phase, will introduce numerous additional amenities. Congrats to the whole team on a job well done! This week's project highlight is Society Brooklyn and Sackett Place! Construction is nearing the finish line for this property designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Property Markets Group. The 21-story residential buildings span 605,000 square feet, featuring 517 residential units and 52,000 square feet of commercial space. Exterior work has since concluded on the towers since the last update and construction is also rapidly progressing on the waterfront esplanade along the Gowanus Canal, which have now added nearly all the landscaping, wooden tables, light fixtures, metal railings, and staircases in place along the eastern side of the development. We are kicking off the new month by spotlighting Jimmy Lynch, Jr. Assoc. IALD, Lighting Designer in MGE’s Lighting Design Studio. Jimmy is a two-time employee of the month recipient, recently being named in January. He consistently brings a positive attitude and reliability. He is willing to take on any challenge and comes up with new ways to do things. This makes him an instrumental part of the Lighting Design Studio. Whether tackling NYC Local Law 88 projects, leading MGE University sessions on photometrics, or lending a hand to team members, he is always eager to learn, contribute, and grow in his role. His work spans projects in NYC and Florida including 1717 Broadway, 150 West 48th Street Cellar and Lobby, 1370 Avenue of the Americas Lobby and Mercedes-Benz Places (Residential and Treehouse Hotel) in Miami. This month we would like to congratulate John Andrinopoulos on being named February's Employee of the Month! John is an Electrical Design Manager who has been with MGE for close to ten years. His work ethic, professionalism and attention to detail is his trademark. He brings many intangibles to the table as well as his technical expertise. Our external consultant contemporaries as well as our clients, respect his methodical approach and his passion for engineering. He always is teaching his staff on the nuances of the electrical trade and general project understanding focused on relationships internally and externally. His team is thriving under his leadership. John’s portfolio is ever growing, and he has been a cornerstone to many projects’ overall successful construction. Projects such as SMBC at 277 Park, The HUB LIC and Cannacord are lucky to have him at the helm. John is an ambitious individual with high aspirations while paving the way for our future as an integral part of the MGE Electrical Advisory Board. As National Engineers Week comes to a close, we are spotlighting volunteer work that ignite the spark of innovation. MGE’s senior engineer Heather Bell, PE’s love for astronomy led her to volunteer at Sugar Sand Park’s Children's Science Explorium. She began volunteering through a friend's invitation to the telescope program, and now she guides families and children in exploring the night sky through a 16-inch telescope while also leading hands-on activities during Friday Night at the Museum. Her dedication not only brings the cosmos to life but also cultivates the problem-solving and creative skills that will shape tomorrow’s engineers.
