We are thrilled to announce that we received the Notice to Proceed for Piedmont Glendale in Glendale, CA! ? This former assisted living facility is set to undergo a remarkable transformation into 68 apartment homes, including 20 studio units, 47 one-bedroom units, and 1 two-bedroom manager’s unit. In addition to the unit conversions, extensive renovations will be done to the multipurpose room, common area lounges, on-site laundry facilities, and courtyards, creating an inviting and functional space for the residents. ? We’re proud to be part of this project and look forward to delivering a space that fosters community and comfort. As we launch our end-of-year campaign, “With You All the Way,” we invite you to journey alongside us and witness the profound impact of the San Diego Housing Federation through the inspiring story of Todd Richardson. His narrative embodies the essence of resilience, connection, and growth that our community strives for. Todd’s path has always been intertwined with the world of construction. From his humble beginnings on job sites, he developed a strong work ethic and an eye for detail that propelled him through the ranks. Fifteen years ago, he took a significant step forward when he became a superintendent, leading a commercial crew in landscaping. After spending two years in restoration, Todd embraced the challenge of working in affordable housing eight years ago. His determination and hard work have led to remarkable success, tripling his business during his tenure. Yet, beyond the numbers and achievements, Todd’s journey reflects a profound personal transformation. He learned to not only work hard but also to embrace growth and the importance of community. Todd’s connection to the San Diego Housing Federation began with a chance meeting with Sarah Buchanan, who became a pivotal figure in his professional life. Sarah introduced Todd to the conference circuit, helping him navigate the complexities of the affordable housing sector in California and beyond. She facilitated connections with key players in the community, ensuring that he felt welcomed and valued. This sense of belonging was instrumental in shaping Todd’s experience within the Federation. “It wasn’t just about professional networking. The Federation is about being part of a family that genuinely cares for its members.” For Todd, one of the most rewarding aspects of his journey with the Federation has been the profound sense of connection it has fostered. He cherishes the moments when members come together to share their stories, celebrate their successes, and uplift one another. It is this spirit of camaraderie that makes the SDHF a unique and vital organization in the affordable housing landscape.
