关于我们
Meyer Memorial Trust, established from the estate of Fred G. Meyer in 1982, is one of the largest private foundations in Oregon. Our founder was a man ahead of his time. The values that guided him — to innovate, take risks, embrace diversity, adapt to changing circumstances and contribute to economic development — continue to create and inform the culture of the trust he established, influencing what we do and how we do it. Over its lifetime, Meyer has awarded grants and program-related investments in excess of $840 million to more than 3,380 organizations. Learn more at mmt.org.

What is your vision for Portland's future? Students and young people gathered at this year's Youth Futures Summit to respond. Their answers included better school safety, increased public funding and much more. A Portland State University initiative, this event brings together Portland youth who are passionate about social and environmental advocacy, civic engagement and community building. Together they utilized futurist principles to envision a future with stronger civic infrastructure and connection to place. https://lnkd.in/gHXQsKs5

We recently hosted a powerful gathering of 40 changemakers at the Center for Great Purposes, bringing together the Mission Investors Exchange and the American Evaluation Association Social Finance Topical Interest Group. This collaborative event centered on advancing mission-driven investments with a shared goal: crafting inclusive processes, assessing both immediate and long-term impacts, and building communities of belonging. Thank you to all for such a thoughtful conversation. More to come!
Thank you to the American Evaluation Association Social Finance Topical Interest Group for co-hosting an interactive lunch session with us in Portland last month! Another huge thank you to our panel of expert guest speakers Melanie Audette, Mission Investors Exchange, Elvis Fraser, Sankofa Consulting LLC, Eric Rosenfeld, Oregon Venture Fund, Judy Wiencken, Meyer Memorial Trust, and moderator Jane Reisman for joining us and guiding our conversations. We enjoyed seeing so many MIE members in person and look forward to connecting again next time!

Here's something to keep you grounded today. We recently met up with Erin Kothari, the executive director of Oregon Futures Lab, to learn more about her organization’s work to cultivate BIPOC leadership, advance movements and weave self-care into our daily practice. "If we’re going to achieve a racially just Oregon, we need leaders who reflect our communities and are supported holistically in their roles. It’s not just about putting someone in a position — it’s about giving them the tools and community they need to thrive." Learn more about what drives Erin: https://lnkd.in/gW2GpCta
