METRO was organized in 1986 in San Antonio Texas and has successfully completed more than 6,000 projects, with a total value exceeding One and a Half Billion Dollars. As a local general contractor, we employ more than 85 people between our Austin and San Antonio offices. We specialize in private sector construction. Our expertise is constructing healthcare facilities, office buildings, retail centers, restaurants, and industrial projects. We build projects from the ground up, finish out existing spaces, and have renovated some Texas’ most beautiful historic buildings. Our peers have recognized our work with over two dozen Excellence in Construction and safety awards, including two coveted Eagle Awards, the highest award given in Associated Builders and Contractors’ national competition. 🚧 Breaking Ground on Hope in San Antonio! 🚨 Today, we proudly joined the American Cancer Society for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the newest Hope Lodge® community at 8719 Floyd Curl Drive. This facility will meet the needs of patients throughout South Texas, providing comfort and support during treatment. The 3-story, 40,000-square-foot building will serve as a free "home away from home" for cancer patients seeking care in San Antonio. 💙 🏘️ Highlights of Hope Lodge® ✔️ 40 private suites ✔️️ Over 14,600 free lodging nights annually ✔️ Library, shared living spaces, pantry, recreational areas, and transportation services As San Antonio-based Metropolitan Contracting Company (METRO), we are honored to serve as the General Contractor for this transformative project. Chief Executive Officer Jane Feigenbaum shared: “Facing a cancer diagnosis is difficult enough without the added burden of traveling far from home for treatment.
