Join us as we welcome keynote speaker, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. In addition to his roles at Harvard University (as the Alphonse Fletcher Professor and Director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research), Gates is an Emmy and Peabody-Award winning filmmaker, journalist, author, and host of the series “Finding Your Roots,” on PBS. Gates recently received the coveted Spingarn Medal from the NAACP, which recognizes outstanding achievement by an African American. Glad to have been in attendance of yesterday’s signing ceremony on Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City’s campus, which celebrated the expansion of their partnership with Western Governors University! #OWLTransferProgram Sending a special shoutout to our Lead Strategic Partnership Manager, Christy Seawall who spearheaded the planning process from WGU's end, and was a pleasure being able to support in the weeks leading up to this event. I also must acknowledge the hardest working man in show business, our Regional Vice President, Terrance Hopson, Ed.D. who was on hand to share his remarks on the partnership during the ceremony. Relationships are an ongoing investment, and we're elated that our relationship with our largest transfer partner in the state of Missouri remains strong! ????
