??Black History Month Spotlight: Granville T. Woods ?? This week, we’re recognizing Granville T. Woods, a brilliant mind who transformed public transportation. In the late 1800s, Woods patented over 50 inventions, many focused on making rail travel safer and more efficient. One of his most important breakthroughs, the multiplex telegraph, allowed trains and stations to communicate, reducing collisions and paving the way for modern railway signaling systems. His work made transit not only faster but also much safer—a legacy that still impacts transportation today.
