Metrolina Association for the Blind (MAB) is a non-profit agency located in Charlotte, NC. MAB provides a wide array of rehabilitative and accessible printing services. The Personal Adjustment & Rehabilitation (PAR) staff is responsible for working with visually impaired clients and providing them the skills to develop and maintain independent living. PAR services include vision rehab training and orientation and mobility training. The Accessible Braille Services (ABS) department produces Braille and large print statements and other documents for financial, utility, and telecommunications corporations. ABS includes the mastering and resale of Braille and large print textbooks at primary and secondary levels; Braille, large print and audio CD monthly billing and account statement rendering transcription; and print/audio services for any one-time or infrequently required document, requiring one or multiple copies.

  • Hiring MAB Bilingual Receptionist We are hiring a full-time bilingual receptionist as a member of our Vision Rehabilitation Services Team. Overview Metrolina Association for the Blind, Inc. has been providing services to and empowering people with blindness and visual impairment since 1934. We are hiring a full time receptionist. We are seeking individual who is flexible, adaptable, comfortable with a diverse community, and has good people/customer service skills. This is a full time year round position with benefits. Minimum Requirements: · High School Diploma · Bachelor’s degree (not required, but preferred) · Pass a background screening, drug screening and credit check. · Bilingual- Spanish and English ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Screen all visitors via the video and intercom systems prior to entering the building and follow all security measures with check-in process · Sign for all special deliveries and follow the procedures for mail delivery, USPS included · Obtains caller’s name and takes message or arranges for appointment with person called upon · Directs caller to destination, and records name, time of call, nature of business, and person called upon as required · Operates telephone console to receive incoming messages · Types memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents · Works well with a diverse community · Translate for staff as needed · Other duties as assigned
