It’s hard to believe that five years ago, local Meals on Wheels programs had to completely adapt their operations to ensure meals could be safely delivered during a pandemic that was just beginning to unfold. While life has returned to normal for many, food relief programs in our community remain busier than ever. Today, Twin Cities Meals on Wheels programs continue to serve 60% more meals than before the pandemic. A combination of factors has led to an unprecedented increase in seniors seeking food assistance, highlighting the ongoing need for support. https://lnkd.in/gHj_6Tac

Rep. Omar helped out in both our kitchen and bakery, helping to prepare meals as part of our partnership with Metro Meals on Wheels.

Looking for a meaningful way to support your community? Join the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation Meals on Wheels volunteer team and help deliver nutritious meals to older adults and individuals with limited mobility in Saint Paul. Volunteers can sign up solo or with a friend, family member, or group for a 1.5-hour shift from 10:30 AM to 12 PM, Monday through Friday. There is a high need for volunteers on Mondays.
