Drew will share an exclusive update to the Metro Hort community on the restoration and maintenance of historic Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers, NY. Untermyer Gardens Conservancy was founded in 2011, and as the restoration project enters its “teenage” years with a staff of 10 horticulturists, the “before” times feel more distant. From the gardener’s POV, this talk will explore the guiding principles of the restored areas, tell of challenges encountered along the way, and profile the recent and future happenings in this 45-acre public garden just outside NYC.
